5-6G

5-6W is an amazing group of students that enjoy all learning experiences that Toukley Public School has to offer.

Students in 5-6W are working towards achieving stage outcomes highlighted in their Personalised Support Plans.  They follow the whole school learning scope and sequence for each Key Learning Area through a modified curriculum. Students are supported in achieving their goals by the Class Teacher and an experienced School Learning Support Officer.

Students are developing their Literacy skills through sight word programs and ability based spelling programs that engage students through the use of technology.  They are developing their understanding of language and grammar conventions through weekly writing activities.  All students participate in daily reading which consists of reading for fun and for learning. This year the whole school is participating in the online reading and phonics program Reading Eggs.

In Mathematics students enjoy using concrete materials and problem solving techniques to gain a deeper understanding of mathematical concepts. They also take part in the online Mathletics which is a fun, effective math program for students of all ages and abilities.

5-6W is experimenting with different artistic mediums with many activities based on what they are learning in other Key Learning Areas as well as being linked to special days throughout the year.

Students are developing their social skills whilst participating in integration activities and whole school activities such as assembly's, sporting activities, Stage excursions and camps.

All students enjoy participating in our cooking program where they are learning how to safely use kitchen appliances and make healthy food choices.
