K-3C is a fantastic group of students that access the curriculum through Personalised Support Plans designed to meet their special needs. They work towards similar learning outcomes at their individual pace with as much or as little assistance as required. They learn through frequent repetition and explicit teaching. Adjustments are made to the level of difficulty and amount of work and all tasks are broken down into simple achievable steps.
They are supported by a highly experienced and extremely passionate School Learning Support Officer. They access a variety of Language Systems and Augmentative programs to develop appropriate and acceptable ways to communicate and they learn how to socialise appropriately through explicit teaching.
Students challenging behaviours are identified and significant behaviours addressed. The students participate in modified Literacy and Numeracy tasks designed to increase self-esteem and develop independence and they are taught how to apply the information to everyday life.
