Kindergarten
What is Kindy Start?
Kindy Start is our transition and orientation program for children who are coming into Kindergarten the following year. The program runs for 3 hours per week over 5 consecutive weeks. Children will have the opportunity to participate in a range of activities that are similar to those that they will engage in at school. Also, Kindy Start provides the opportunity for children to become familiar with the areas of the school that they will be using, for example, the toilets and the canteen.
Parent/ Carer Orientation.
As the children are attending their final session of Kindy Start, we will run a parent orientation and information session. The dates are 26, 27 and 28 November, 2019. You will be given information about start date, the Best Start assessment, our amazing literacy and numeracy programs and how you can best support your child. There will also be lots of goodies for you to take home. A light morning tea will be provided and young children are welcome.
What do the students need to bring?
Your child will need to bring a healthy snack or sandwich, a water bottle, a piece of fruit and a hat in a backpack.
What do the students need to wear?
They will need to wear comfortable clothing that covers the shoulders and footwear that fully encloses their feet, no thongs please.
What time?
Children will commence the program at 9am and finish at 12.00. Children will need to be signed in and out each day.
Speech Screening.
As part of our Kindy Start program, each child will have their speech and language development screened by all Areas speech. Please complete the consent form and return it to the staff.
